List of Recovery Focused In-Person Support Groups
Sheffield In-Person Support Group
If you’re based in or around Sheffield, there is an opportunity to connect in person with others who understand what it’s like to live with and recover from long term health conditions.
ME/CFS sufferer, Danny Sherwood, is starting a peer-led support group in Sheffield, South Yorkshire - and looking for interest.
This is not a formal programme or a clinical service. It is an informal, in-person space for people who want real conversations about their health experiences, with others who genuinely get it.
The aim is simple. To create a space where you can talk openly, share honestly, and be around people who understand the reality of what you’ve been through. A place to vent, laugh, reflect, and feel less alone in it.
This group is grounded in a few shared principles:
The focus is on getting better - holding onto the belief that improvement is possible and worth working towards
Everyone’s path is different - people recover in different ways, and all experiences are respected
Lived experience matters - you can share what helped you, but there is no pressure to advise or fix anyone else
If you’re looking for something deeper than small talk, and want space for real, honest conversations about recovery, this may be a good fit.
